When Gloria started to teach Pilates in 2011, she was working with a general population and offering mainly matwork group classes. Eventually one of her regular client got pregnant and asked her to keep on training her. Despite when she was in training as a teacher years earlier she studied a module about pilates during pregnancy and post partum, when she actually had to train her pregnant client she realised what she learned wasn't absolutely enough and nowhere near the type of care she wanted to offer to her clients. She straight away started to look for a good specialisation course, and joined a few of them without finding the perfect one: they were all mainly focused on what to avoid during pregnancy and on how to "bounce back" after birth. She wasn't satisfied at all, until she finally met Carolyne Anthony and joined her course to become a Pre and Post Natal Specialist in Manchester, UK, in 2014. That course, together with the "Pelvic Floor Health and Dysfunction" course, opened her eyes to the way she wanted to teach pre and post natal.

Ever since then, she kept on specialising in Pre and Post Natal, with a special attention to what the body (and mind) during pregnancy and postpartum actually needs instead of just focusing on what to avoid. Her prenatal classes are tailored to help you to take care of your body, to stay active and to get ready for birth, doing exactly what you need given all the things that your body is experiencing; these classes will also help you to learn some tips for labour and for the immediate post partum. Her postnatal classes are focused on helping you taking care of the healing process your body is going through while helping you to regain strenght and giving you tips to get rid of tension, pain and discomfort that your new life with your baby can cause.

"I feel very lucky to have come across Gloria’s Pre natal Pilates class. Her teaching style is excellent; she is calm, positive and encouraging. She would always explain what we were doing and the impact it would have on our bodies. This was useful especially whilst being pregnant. Gloria was always ready to adapt positions according to the different stages of pregnancy that we were at in the group. She always took the time to come around the room and physically help us with our postures to ensure that we were carrying out the various positions correctly and safely. I can honestly say that I would look forward to my weekly classes with Gloria and would highly recommend them to any new mother to be." Sabrina

"Gloria's pre-natal pilates classes were fantastic. I always felt very safe in Gloria's classes, and could always trust her to guide a gentle, careful, but also nicely challenging pregnancy workout! I liked the classes because the group size was small (roughly 10 people or fewer) so there was one-to-one attention. Also, I loved the nice chats before and after class with Gloria and the other pregnant mums to be! I always looked forward to these sessions on a Sunday morning." Helena

"Gloria is a fantastic teacher. I attended her post natal classes when I was pregnant and I always looked forward to them very much. She is super knowledgeable, friendly, caring and always takes time to adjust/help where needed. She stands out from other teachers by taking a personal interest in her students and her thirst for learning is endless. I was lucky to be her student and wish her the very best for the future." Naomi

Alongside her classes, she has also founded a group on Facebook (created during the pandemic in 2020 to help women during social distancing) where she offers some classes and talks for free: the classes are live streamed so you can interact with questions and comment, but they are saved so you can rewatch all of them every time you want. The group is private to protect the space. Search for Mama's Breathing Movement and send a request to join [update: after 4 years, the group is now closed. Thank you to everyone who joined us over the years!]

"I joined "Mama's Breathing Movement" group on Facebook as I have known Gloria for a long time and, despite we now live in two different countries, we kept in touch. She had the brilliant idea to create this group to keep on helping and supporting mothers-to-be and new mothers like me during the lockdown.
She offers different classes like prenatal (with exercises to help during pregnancy and very good advices and suggestions) and postnatal (offering both easier and more intense classes to help to readjust and to support the body after pregnancy and birth - vaginal or cesarean). She also offers fantastic relaxation sessions that we all need and should do. Gloria teaches and explains in a very understandable, clear and professional way and she is always available to answer any question or curiosity (during the live class or privately) and to do specific exercises we request. It is a group open to every mum and Gloria does this for free in her spare time. I highly recommended to join it to all my friends as I've found it very useful. Ever since I had my son I barely had time to do some exercises, especially since I got back to work. Thanks to this group and to my commitment to join every class she teaches, I re-discovered the passion and the need of having some "me time". After her classes I feel mentally and physically regenerated: I believe this is the most important thing about her classes, the attention she pays to the mind and body connection in order to help mothers to take care and to listen to themselves, because being a mum is challenging and intense.
Joining her classes I can tell she is so passionated about her job, and how much she take care of us is the main reason why I keep on doing it!" Lisa

Between 2018 and 2019, while facing the adventure of learning to be a mother herself, she has collaborated to a scientific qualitative research, conducted by her husband at Birkbeck University London, about the psychological effects of Postnatal Pilates (group classes) for new mums, where the results have highlighted the incredible benefits of it.

In autumn 2019, while working on her final project for her doula qualification, she has also created "GraviDANZA - The Soul Body Movement for Mothers": launched in Stockholm, Sweden, in January 2020, hosted by DoulaGruppen Studio, this workshop is a new prenatal care movement method. Gloria is also a Women's Health Specialist (and huge advocate - follow her Instagram page if this is a topic close to your heart too), bringing the help of physical movement into conditions such as endometriosis (she was part of the very first A.P.P.I. cohort of teachers specialising in using pilates to help people suffering of endometriosis). She is also very knowledgeable about menstrual health, menopause and every phase women can go through, and she always takes the hormonal shifts in our body into consideration when working with her clients, students and patients.
